(1944-2011)
 L: "Drie maanden lang heb ik koortsachtig aan mijn probleem gewerkt. Toen het probleem af was, kon ik er elke dag uren naar kijken. Ik was 35 en mijn dochter, die ik niet meer mocht zien, 2 jaar. Met de witte slag 35x2 over drie dammen probeerde ik in gedachten mijn dochter terug te krijgen." Na een aantal jaren gebeurde dat, inderdaad. Werd zo de bekendste bewerking van het 16e-eeuwse Timoneda eindspelmotief: uniek hoe de drie zwarte dammen op de juiste plaats worden gezet !! Brabants Dagblad 26 februari 1983. Anne de Vries (1902-1984) Deze Friese rasoplosser was een problemist met goed gevoel voor humor. Deze 9x9 compositie zit vol met verrassende zetten! De Problemist juni 1978. This fanatic draughts problem solver, from the provence Friesland, The Netherlands, was also a good
composer with sense of humor. This 9x9 compositions contains a lot of surprising moves and strokes! De Problemist June 1978. Derk Vuurboom (1913-2008) Deze problemist heeft naast zeer veel magere ook heel veel mooie problemen gemaakt (in totaal zo'n 8500!).
